About Of Erlonat 150 Mg (Erlotinib)Tablet
Erlonat 150 Mg (Erlotinib) contains Erlotinib, a targeted cancer therapy medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). It is primarily used in the treatment of certain types of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and pancreatic cancer.
Uses Of Erlonat 150 Mg
- Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC): Erlonat 150 mg is used for the treatment of NSCLC, particularly in patients with specific genetic mutations (such as EGFR mutations) who have not responded to other chemotherapy treatments.
- Pancreatic Cancer: It is also used in combination with another chemotherapy drug, gemcitabine, for the treatment of locally advanced, unrespectable, or metastatic pancreatic cancer.
How Erlonat 150 Mg Works?
Erlotinib works by inhibiting the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase, a protein involved in the growth and spread of cancer cells. By blocking this receptor, Erlotinib interferes with the cancer cells’ ability to grow, multiply, and spread to other parts of the body.
Dosage
The usual dose of Erlonat for NSCLC is 150 mg taken orally once daily, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. For pancreatic cancer, the typical dose is 100 mg daily.
