Clopicard 75 Mg contains clopidogrel, a drug that belongs to the class of drugs called antiplatelets. Clopicard 75 Mg is used to treat blood clots caused by atherothrombosis, which can cause atherosclerotic events in people with atherosclerosis and atherothrombotic events such as heart attacks or strokes. In patients having percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), it is also utilized to address in-stent restenosis.
Platelets are little blood components that form clusters when blood clots. Antiplatelet medications lessen the likelihood of blood clots developing by controlling this clumping (a process termed thrombosis).
By abnormally thickening the blood vessel wall and decreasing blood flow to the tissue, atherothrombosis is an inflammatory process of the arteries that affects the heart, brain, and peripheral circulation (blood flow to the hands, legs, feet, and arms). Peripheral artery disease, myocardial infarction, and stroke can result from this.
