About Accufine 10 mg
Accufine 10 mg contains Isotretinoin, which is a retinoid medication primarily used to treat severe acne (such as nodular or cystic acne) that hasn’t responded to other treatments.
Uses:
- Severe acne
- Acne that hasn’t improved with antibiotics or topical treatments
Dosage:
- Usually taken once or twice daily with food
- Dosage is based on body weight and severity of acne
- Typically prescribed for 15-20 weeks
Side Effects:
- Dry skin, lips, and eyes
- Increased sensitivity to sunlight
- Muscle or joint pain
- Mood changes (rare but possible)
Warnings & Precautions:
- Pregnancy Risk: Highly teratogenic (causes severe birth defects) – women must use strict birth control during and after treatment.
- Liver Health: Requires regular liver function and lipid level tests.
- Avoid Alcohol: Alcohol can increase liver toxicity.
- Do Not Donate Blood: During and after treatment for at least one month (to prevent birth defects in pregnant recipients).
